Gloucestershire Nightstop has been helping young people stay off the streets since we started in 2001. Without our team of volunteers, none of this would have been possible. All volunteers will be provided with a full induction and on-going training and support..

Nightstop Hosts

Our Nightstop hosts provide an occasional, temporary room for a young person facing a homelessness crisis. You will need to have a spare room and be happy to provide washing facilities and an evening meal. Your expenses will be paid and we will provide ongoing training and support including a 24 hour on-call support line. The young person will be supported by Gloucestershire Nightstop staff during the daytime. All young people are risk assessed and the house rules are clearly explained to the young person prior to being placed in a host’s house. Accommodation is offered on a night by night basis.

The volunteer driver’s main role is to transport the young person to the hosts house. Occasionally you may be required to take the young person to appointments.

This volunteer job requires some previous experience working within young people’s services, school, or mentoring services or similar. You will be given one or two young people to support with a view to helping them through their period of homelessness into one of more stability.
